The NXP Hitag 2 transponder IC is a 125kHz Long Range RFID IC which provides reading distances of up to 1m (depending on type of reader and antenna). The NXP Hitag 2 IC features a 256kBit memory and allows encrypted data communication (read/write). Two security modes enable the combination of efficiency and security. The crypto mode checks the idtintiy of the communication partner. The communication mode takes place in plain mode after checking the passwords.
